Bridesmaid Etiquette:
Don’t complain, even if you disagree with the bride’s choice of style or colour. If the bride loves the dress, then the duty of the bridesmaid is to carry off the look with confidence.
Help out. Offer to make the bonbonnieres for the wedding or help write out the invitations.
Make sure the bride is ready for the walk down the aisle. Don’t just line up in order. Check the bride’s train is laid out nicely and hair piece is on straight. Make sure any children in the bridal party are neat and tidy.
Dance. Okay so you have two left feet, dance anyway. Make sure the newlyweds know your enjoying yourself.
Don’t have too many drinks. There is a line between having a few drinks and having a few drinks too many. The bride will need a hand at the end of the night. Whether it’s getting all her belongings together or collecting up the wedding gifts, your job isn’t over until the guests are all gone and the bride has left the building.
Offer to babysit the littlies on the wedding night. If the couple’s children are in the bridal party, take them for the night to give the bride and groom some space.
Last but not least, remember this is your best-friends day, not yours. Do what you can to make the bride and groom happy.
